A Common Entrance Test, designated as Telangana Law Common Entrance Test (TG LAWCET) and Telangana PG Law Common Entrance Test (TG PGLCET) will be conducted by the Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education for admission into 3Year / 5Year LL.B. Regular Courses and 2 year LL.M. Courses in the Colleges of Law in Telangana for the every academic year.
Eligibility Criteria:
TG LAWCET – LL.B. 5 Years
- Candidate should have completed two year Intermediate Examination with (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent
- Percentage required in 10+2 or equivalent exam, for OC/BC candidates – 45% marks/equivalent grade and for OBC candidates – 42% marks/equivalent grade and SC/ST candidates – 40% marks/equivalent grade.
TG LAWCET – LL.B. 3 Years
- Candidate should have completed Any Graduate Degree with (10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University or its equivalent
- Percentage required in 10+2+3 or equivalent exam, for OC/BC candidates – 45% marks/equivalent grade and for OBC candidates – 42% marks/equivalent grade and SC/ST candidates – 40% marks/equivalent grade.
TG LAWCET – LL.M
- Candidate should have completed Candidates holding LL.B./B.L. 3/5 Year degree
- The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 25% (i.e. 30 marks out of total 120 marks). For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, no minimum qualifying percentage of marks is prescribed.
Exam Pattern:
- The test is conducted in online mode. Computer-Based Online Mode
- The examination duration lasting for 90 minutes (1.5 hours).
- The total number of questions in may vary from year to year, approximately, there are around 120 questions.
- Each correct answer usually carries 1 mark. For each incorrect response, there is no negative marking.
Syllabus:
LL.B 3Years/5Years
Part – A: Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: General Knowledge and Mental Ability.
Part – B: Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: Current Affairs.
Part – C: Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 marks: Aptitude for the Study of Law which includes elementary knowledge of the basic principles of Law and Constitution of India, on the Part of the Student is assumed.
For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Intermediate level/10+2 and for 3 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Degree Level.
LL.M
Part-A: It consists of total 40 questions: 40 Marks (One mark for each question).
Jurisprudence: Schools of Jurisprudence – Sources of Law: Custom, Precedent and Legislation-Rights and Duties – Ownership and Possession-Persons-Obligation-Property-Liability-Legal Sanctions.
Constitutional Law: Nature of the Constitution: Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, Executive Judiciary and Legislature, Centre-State Relations, Emergency provisions, Amendments to the Constitution.
Part-B: It consists of total 80 questions: 80 Marks (One mark for each question)
Public & Private International Law: International Law and Municipal Law, Subjects of International Law, State Territory, Air, Sea and outer Space, Nationality and Statelessness, Extradition, Asylum, State Jurisdiction, United Nations, Private International law.
Business and Corporate Laws: General Principles of Contract (Sections. 1-75 of Indian Contract Act, 1872) – The Companies Act, 2013, Intellectual Property Rights, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, Competition laws, Business and Corporate laws
Labour Law: Laws relating to Trade Union, Factories, Maternity Benefits and Industrial Disputes (as applicable) latest developments.
Crimes and Torts: The Indian Penal Code 1860 – General Principles & General Exceptions. – Torts: General Principles of Tort, Defences, Joint liability, State liability for Torts; The Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Other Allied Laws: The Environment Laws, Human Rights laws, Laws relating to ADR, The Information Technology Act, 2000 and The Right to Information Act 2005.
Application Procedure:
- The admission notification published on the official website of Telangana State Higher Education Council’s website: https://lawcet.tsche.ac.in/
- Click on the TS LAWCET or TS PGLCET application form link.
- Enter the basic details of the candidates including personal, educational along with valid contact details.
- The candidates should upload scanned copies of photograph and signature and other required documents.
- Last stage the candidate should pay the application fee through online mode and submit the application form.
Application Fees:
- The payment should be made through online mode.
- The application fee is Rs. 900/- (Rupees Nine Hundred Only) for OC & BCs category candidates for TS LAWCET (LL.B.3 /5 Years)
- The application fee is Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six Hundred Only) for SC/ST & PH category candidates for TS LAWCET (LL.B.3 /5 Years)
- The application fee is Rs. 1100/- (Rupees One Thousand One Hundred Only) for OC & BCs category candidates for TS PGLCET (LL. M.)
- The application fee is Rs. 900/- (Rupees Nine Hundred Only) for SC/ST & PH category candidates for TS PGLCET (LL. M.)
Documents to be uploaded:
- Recent scanned passport size photo of the candidate (size & format as mentioned in the website)
- Recent scanned signature of the candidate(size & format as mentioned in the website)
- Mark sheets of 10th and 12th class
- Mark sheets of graduation degree or LL.B degree (if required)
- Date of birth certificate as proof of age
- Income certificate of parents issued by MRO or competent authority
- Study or resident certificate
- Caste certificate issued by MRO or any competent authority and application number of the caste certificate (for SC/ST only)
- NCC, PH, CAP certificate issued by a competent authority if applicable
- Passport size photograph (size < 50 KB) and signature (size < 30 KB)
- Aadhar card
- Transfer Certificate (TC)
Admit Card:
- The Admit Card/Hall ticket can be downloaded by the candidate by logging into his/her account from the official website.
- The date for downloading the Admit Card/Hall ticket will be intimated on the official website.
- Candidates must arrive at the exam center at the specified reporting time mentioned on the admit card.
Results:
- After the entrance exam results are declared on the official website of the University: https://lawcet.tsche.ac.in/
- Candidates can check their results by entering their roll number.
- The result will include marks obtained in each section and overall rank.
