PANJAB UNIVERSITY LAW ENTRANCE EXAM DETAILS

The PANJAB UNIVERSITY conduct a national-level law exam for admission to undergraduate (5-year & 3 Year LL.B programs) and postgraduate (LL.M programs)

Eligibility Criteria:

5-year LL.B program

  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam for getting admission in 5 years LL.B
  • Percentage required in 10+2 or equivalent exam, – 45% marks/equivalent grade

3 Year LL.B program

  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 +3 or equivalent exam for getting admission in 3 years LL.B
  • Percentage required – 45% marks/equivalent grade

LL.M programs

  • Candidate Should have a valid 5 years or 3 years LL.B Degree
  • Percentage required in LL.B/equivalent degree, with minimum 55% marks.

Exam Pattern:

  • The exam is conducted in offline mode. The candidates must use pen to mark their answers on the provided OMR sheet.
  • The examination duration lasting for 90 minutes (1.5 hours).
  • The total number of questions approximately, there are around 100 questions.
  • Each correct answer usually carries 1 mark. For each incorrect response, there is a penalty, around 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect response.

Syllabus:

LL.B Program-

English: In this section topics may include comprehension passages, grammar, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, etc.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs: Topics are related to awareness of current events, both national and international, along with general knowledge topics such as history, geography, economics, etc.

Legal Aptitude: This section questions may be based on in the study of law, research aptitude, legal propositions etc.

Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability: The questions may be asked on identify patterns, logical links, rectify illogical arguments includes syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc.

Law of Contracts: In this section topics may include on the principles and concepts of contract law, including formation, performance, breach, remedies, etc.

LL.M Program

Constitutional Law: In this section, questions of the Indian Constitution, including its principles, fundamental rights, directive principles, separation of powers, etc.

Criminal Law: The questions may be asked on the basis of knowledge of substantive and procedural aspects of criminal law, including offences, defences, punishment, etc.

Jurisprudence: The topics may be came from various schools of jurisprudence, legal theories, and their application in legal reasoning etc.

International Law: This section basically focuses on the principles and concepts of international law, which includes treaties, statehood, jurisdiction, state responsibility, etc.

Property Law: The questions may be appear on property rights, ownership, transfer of property, and related legal principles etc.

Legal Reasoning: Similar to the undergraduate program, this section basically focuses on understand legal principles and their application to given fact situations.

Legal Awareness and Current Affairs: Topics may be discussed on the basis of recent legal developments and their ability to analyse various legal issues in the contemporary context.

Application Procedure:

  • The exam notification will publishes on their official website: http://admissiontest.pu.edu.pk
  • Click on the “Admission” and after carefully reading all the instructions, click on ‘Go to Registration’.
  • The candidate should pay the Fees.
  • Next the candidate should enter the basic details of the candidates including personal, educational along with valid contact details.
  • In the next step the candidate should upload the scanned photo, signature and other required documents. Fill other important information and Save and Confirm. (Once you confirm the form, you will not be allowed to change information in the form

Application Fees:

  • Download Fee Challan while registering for the Admission Test
  • Fee Challan is only available through PU Admission Portal.
  • The Fee can be paid at any branch of HBL, UBL or Mobile Banking through 1Bill.
  • The fees will be mentioned in their official website.

Documents to be uploaded:

  • Recent scanned passport size photo of the candidate (size & format as mentioned in the website)
  • Recent scanned signature of the candidate(size & format as mentioned in the website)
  • Mark sheets of 10th and 12th class
  • Mark sheet of Graduation degree or LL.B degree (if required)
  • Any other documents as required by the University.

Admit Card:

  • The Admit Card/Hall ticket can be downloaded by the candidate by logging into his/her account from the official website.
  • All Candidates must carry the admit card in the exam center.

Result:

  • Theresults are declared on the official website of the University
  • Candidates can check their results by entering their roll number.
  • The merit list  is prepared based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam and the qualifying exam.
