ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY LAW ADMISSION TEST

The Allahabad University Law Admission Test (AU LAT) is conducted by the Allahabad University, Uttar Pradesh every year to offer Admission in its 3-Year LL. B Programme. For admissions to the 5-year integrated law course i.e. B.A.LL.B, the university conducts a separate entrance exam known as – Law Faculty Admission Test (LFAT).

Eligibility Criteria:

LAT:

  • The Candidate should have completed their graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
  • Candidates should have obtained at least 45% marks if they are belonging to General Category, 42% marks for OBC category and 40% marks for SC/ST Category.
  • Those Candidates who are appearing in their final year examination of graduation degree can also apply for AU LAT, but the candidate should qualifying the degree at the time of final admission procedure.
  • Candidates if completed their graduation via the distance mode of education will not be allowed to take the AU LAT.
  • There is no Age Limit for this .
  • Foreign National or Non-Resident Indian category candidates have a separate selection procedure.

LFAT:

  • The candidate should have passed Class 12th or equivalent qualifying examination from any state or national board of education.
  • The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination with at least 45% marks if belonging to General category, 42% marks if belonging to OBC category and 40% marks if belonging to SC/ ST category.

Exam Pattern:

  • The Examination is Objective in nature and is conducted in Offline Mode i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PBT) in various test centers across India.
  • Two marks will be awarded for every correct answer and negative marking of 0.5 marks will be done for every incorrect answer.
  • The Medium of question paper will be in English Language only.
  • The time given to complete the whole examination will be of 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • There is no negative marking in case of wrong attempts by the candidates in LFAT exam.

Syllabus:

Language Comprehension: In this section topics may include comprehension passages, grammar, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, etc.

General Awareness and Current Affairs: Topics are related to awareness of current events, both national and international, along with general knowledge topics such as history, geography, economics, etc.

Legal Aptitude: This section questions may be based on in the study of law, research aptitude, legal propositions etc.

Logical Reasoning: The questions may be asked on identify patterns, logical links, rectify illogical arguments includes syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc.

Numerical Ability: In this section questions may be came from basic mathematical skills such as numerical calculations, arithmetic, algebra, mensuration, etc.

Application Procedure:

  • The exam notification of Allahabad University publishes on their official website: http://allduniv.ac.in/
  • Click on the “Admission” portal, select the registration link and register yourself with valid mobile number and email address.
  • Enter all the details of the candidates including personal, educational details and other required details.
  • In the next step the candidate should upload all required documents.
  • In the last stage the candidate should pay the Fees and submit the form

Application Fees:

  • The payment should be made through online mode.
  • The application fee is Rs. 400/- (Rupees Four Hundred Only) for General/OBC/ SC/ST candidates of PWD Quota irrespective of their gender Male/Female/Transgender.
  • The application fee is Rs. 800/- (Rupees Eight Hundred Only) for General/OBC/EWS candidates irrespective of their gender Male/Female/Transgender.

Documents to be uploaded:

  • Recent scanned passport size photo of the candidate (size & format as mentioned in the website)
  • Recent scanned signature of the candidate(size & format as mentioned in the website)
  • Mark sheets of 10th and 12th class
  • Mark sheet of Graduation degree or LL.B degree (if required)
  • Date of birth certificate as proof of age
  • Income certificate of parents
  • Resident certificate
  • Caste certificate (if seeking admission under reserved categories)

Admit Card:

  • The Admit Card/Hall ticket can be downloaded by the candidate by logging into his/her account from the official website.
  • The date for downloading the Admit Card/Hall ticket will be intimated on the official website.
  • Candidates should reach their allotted test center at least an hour before the exam.
  • All Candidates must carry the admit card along with one valid photo ID proof – Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, PAN card etc.
  • Candidates should also carry two pens (black or blue colour) and an HB pencil to mark answers on the OMR sheet provided.
  • Candidates should avoid carrying mobile phones, earphones, watches, or even any type of study material to the examination center/ hall.

Results:

  • After the entrance exam results are declared on the official website of the University: http://allduniv.ac.in/
  • The university will publish merit list and waiting list for the counselling process.
  • All the candidates who are shortlisted in the merit list will be required to appear for the counselling process as per the schedule.
  • They will need to confirm their seat allotment and pay the admission fee as instructed by the admission committee.
