SLAT SYMBOISIS LAW ADMISSION TEST DETAILS

An undergraduate law programmes B.A., LL.B/ B.B.A.,LL.B/ B.A., LL.B(Hons.)/ B.B.A.,LL.B(Hons.) offered by institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) since 2018, SET – Law test is known as Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT). This is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across various cities of India.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must hold an Indian citizenship.
  • Foreign nationals are eligible to apply.
  • Percentage required in 10+2 or equivalent exam, for General – 45% marks/equivalent grade and for SC/ST category/ Persons with disabilities – 40% marks/equivalent grade.
  • Candidates who are taking the 12th or equivalent qualifying exam or waiting for results are also eligible to apply and take the exam.

Exam Pattern:

  • SLAT is conducted in online mode. It’s a computer-based MCQ test. 
  • The candidates must reached on the designated exam centre.
  • The examination duration lasting for 60 minutes (1 hours).
  • The total number of questions are around 60 approximately.
  • Each correct answer usually carries 1 mark.
  • There is no negative marking.

Syllabus:

  • Logical Reasoning – The questions may be asked on blood relations, series, directions, critical reasoning, syllogism, analogy
  • English Language – This section focused on reading comprehension, word usage, vocabulary, grammar, inference-based questions, synonyms, antonyms, foreign words/phrase, para jumbles etc.
  • Legal Reasoning – The questions may came from legal terms, Indian constitution, its structure, sections and schedules, contracts and constitutional law, torts, vicarious liability, contracts and constitutional law, IPC and the Cr.P.C., strict liability, law of crimes, international law, intellectual property rights, legal awareness covering constitutional law and polity
  • Analytical Reasoning – This section basically focuses on mental ability and logical/mathematical analysis, deductive reasoning, odd-even discretion, logical fallacy, analogy, syllogism, agreement and disagreement
  • General Knowledge – The questions may be asked from Indian ancient, medieval and modern history, international events, un bodies, major developments in the areas of sports, geopolitics and important environmental agreements, current affairs, eminent personalities, sports, awards and honours.

Application Procedure:

The exam notification of the SLAT publishes on their official website: https://www.set-test.org/

  • Candidate shall register himself/herself online on the website (Note: No changes shall be permitted after the registration under any circumstances.
  • A candidate can appear for SET/SLAT/SITEEE. If a candidate appears for more than one test, the higher score will be considered for the final percentile calculation.
  • The candidate should provide his/ her full name, Date of birth, Gender, Category, Address for communication, 10+2 details, Programme preference, SLAT Test city preference, mobile number, and email address while registering for SLAT.
  • Uploading of the required documents.
  • Pay the registration fee to complete the SLAT registration process. 
  • Log in again using the SLAT ID and password that you will receive via SMS and email after completing the registration. 
  • Now, fill out the SLAT application form. 
  • Pay the SLAT institution fee for the SLS or SLSs that you want to apply for to complete the application process. 
  • All communication with candidates will be done through the official email address (info@set-test.org) only. Please ensure that this email address is whitelisted in your registered email.

  3. Demand Draft.
  4. The entrance test registration fee for SET/SLAT/SITEEE is INR 2250/- per test. (Non- refundable and non-transferable).
  5. In addition to that, you have to pay the programme registration fee of INR 1000/- for each programme that you wish to apply for. (Non-refundable and non-transferable)
  6. Submit a Demand Draft (DD) from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune.
  7. Choose the mode of Payment as ‘DD Payment’ in “Make Payment” Tab. Take a print of the payment advice form, fill in the DD Details, sign and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat only at:

The Symbiosis Test Secretariat will authenticate the details of the Demand Draft and will send you an email confirming the payment. Only after that candidate can be able to view your Admit Card.

Documents to be uploaded:

  • Upload your latest scanned colour passport size photo at the time of Online Registration. (Photograph should not be more than 04 months old).
  • Uploading other documents which are required in the time of registration.

Admit Card:

  • Admit cards for SLAT are typically released a few weeks before the exam date on their official website.
  • Candidates can download the admit card from the official SLAT website by logging.
  • It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the exam centre along with proof of a valid photo ID.

Results:

  • The results are usually announced within a few weeks after the examination.
  • Results will be uploaded on the official website of Symbiosis International University or through the designated portal for SLAT results.
  • Results are generally declared as scorecards indicating your performance in each exam section.
